The Toronto Blue Jays continue their visit at Kauffman Stadium versus the Kansas City Royals in game two of their ALCS.
The Toronto Blue Jays appeared to have a favorable match up in the ALCS opener but their offense was silent and the work on the mound couldn’t win on their own. Starter Marco Estrada gave up three runs on six hits over 5.1 frames before LaTroy Hawkins allowed two more to put the game out of reach. The big bats of the Blue Jays were held to three hits and five bases on balls with Jose Bautista walking three times. Left hander David Price makes his second start of the postseason when he opposes the Royals Saturday. Price dropped a 5-3 decision to Texas in the ALDS with all five runs plated on five hits and two BB in seven frames.

The Kansas City Royals are looking like the team that went to the World Series a season ago. The Royals were dominant in Friday’s series opener beginning with the work on the mound with Edinson Volquez giving up a pair of hits and walking four through six scoreless innings while thee relievers allowed a hit and a walk. The KC offense did their damage on eight hits with Salvador Perez smacking a solo homer while Alcides Escobar went 2-3 with an RBI and two runs. Kansas City hands the ball to Yordano Ventura who gets his third start of the playoffs. In two starts against the Astros Ventura has allowed a combined six runs on eight hits and four BB over seven frames.
The over is 8-1-2 in Toronto last 11 overall. and the Blue Jays are 6-2 in their last 8 Saturday games while 6-2 in their last 8 games on grass. Kansas City are 8-2 in their last 10 overall and are 8-2 in their last 10 games on grass while going over is 7-2-1 in their last 10 Saturday games. I haven’t liked what I’ve seen from either hurler and will probably just watch…
