The Chicago Cubs look to even the NLDS in game two at the New York Mets on Sunday.
The momentum of the Chicago Cubs NLDS win against the Cardinals didn’t carry over to the NLCS opener as the Mets squeezed out a 4-2 victory. Nether the work on the mound or at the plate was strong enough. Starter Jon Lester was charged with all four runs on eight hits including a pair of long balls over 6.2 innings pitched. The offense managed five hits and walked three times with Kyle Schwarber slamming a solo homerun while Starlin Castro doubled in Anthony Rizzo. The Cubs are looking to ace right hander to even the NLCS at Citi Field on Sunday. Arrieta struggled in an 8-6 victory versus the Cardinals in the NLDS with four runs plated on five hits in 5.2 frames.
