The New York Mets need a win here to have any real shot of winning this series. The Mets have scored just five runs in this series but four or more runs in six of their last nine games. Daniel Murphy leads New York with 18 hits and 11 RBI while Curtis Granderson and Yoenis Cespedes have combined for 15 RBI. The Mets pitching staff has allowed three or less runs in six of their last eight games and has struck out 10 batters this series. The Mets have won seven of their last 10 games when allowing three or less runs. The Mets have split their last 10 home games. Noah Syndergaard takes the hill, and he’s 1-1 with a 2.77 ERA and 20 strikeouts this postseason.
While I picked the Royals to win this series, I expect it to go a little longer than four or five games. This is a must-win game for the Mets or this series will be over rather quickly. With that being the case, it's hard not to pick New York with Syndergaard on the hill.
I expect the Mets to get the job done here.
