The Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Indians play game two of their series Wednesday night.
The Boston Red Sox won their season opener with a solid 6-2 victory in which they allowed just five hits and scored runs in pairs. The scary thing is that the Red Sox left 10 guys on base and had five players with two hits. Brock Holt leads Boston with two hits, David Ortiz has two RBI and Mookie Betts has one home run. The Boston Red Sox are expected to have a bounce back season in the tough AL East, and if their opener is an indication of things to come, it’s going to be a successful year. Clay Buchholz gets the ball, and he was 7-7 with a 3.26 ERA and 107 strikeouts last season. Buchholz is 2-1 with a 4.13 ERA and 17 strikeouts in his career against the Indians.

The Cleveland Indians scored both of their runs in the fourth inning but struggled to do anything in the rest of the game. The Indians are capable of playing so much better, but they clearly had a hard time picking up David Price and the Boston bullpen. Francisco Lindor leads Cleveland with two hits, Yan Gomes has an RBI and Carlos Santana drew one walk. The Cleveland Indians, who have won four of their last six home games, hope for a bounce back performance in game two. Carlos Carrasco takes the hill, and he was 14-12 with a 3.63 ERA and 216 strikeouts last season. Carrasco is 1-1 with a 3.77 ERA and 12 strikeouts in his career against the Red Sox.
The Red Sox are 6-1 in their last 7 games following a win and 4-1 in Buchholzs last 5 starts. The Indians are 10-3 in their last 13 games following a loss and 2-5 in Carrascos last 7 home starts. The Red Sox are 1-6 in the last 7 meetings in Cleveland.
The Indians are a better team than what they showed on Tuesday, and Buchholz is a hittable pitcher unlike Price. So, in a toss-up game, I'm going to side with Cleveland to get its bounce back win.
