The Chicago White Sox look to complete a three game sweep of the Oakland A's when the two meet at the Coliseum on Wednesday.
The White Sox got some offence going late on Tuesday as Jimmy Rollins first home run for the White Sox gave them the lead in the eight one they would not give up. Earlier Todd Frazier hit his first home run for the White Sox and Jose Quintana had thrown a QS but left with a no decision after the A's rallied in the seventh. The White Sox have some talent in this roster and the bats have looked lively in the opening two games. If Jose Abreu, Frazier and Adam Eaton can continue the type of production that they have shown thus far this is a team that could be competing into late September. On Wednesday young phenom Carlos Rodon gets the ball, Rodon was second among rookies last season with over 130 k's he looks to build on a solid season here and getting the A's Sonny Gray in his first start should see a terrific pitching battle develop.

Sonny Gray as mentioned will get the ball for the A's on Wednesday after he was scratched from opening day due to illness. Gray is a terrific pitcher who has gone 7-1 in April in his career and posts a 2.02 ERA in the month. Gray though has had his struggles against Chicago losing both of his starts against the White Sox with a terrible 8.10 ERA. This is obviously something Gray will want to address here and it will be interesting to see if the White Sox really do have a read on Gray or of those two starts we're just outliers. The Athletics got some offence from veteran Jed Lowrie on Tuesday as he drove in two runs. Lowrie has terrific at bats and is never an easy out he will be a key figure if the A's are to do anything this season as will Coco Crisp and Marcus Semien and Billy Butler the A's need bat production from all their moving pieces of the truth be told as they look like a team in a rebuilding phase.
Understandably the Athletics are favourites with Gray on the mound. Gray will be a favourite in most situations for the A's for me though this White Sox team have been impressive and are grinding out wins. Their line up is gritty and hard working, beating this team is going to take work. The White Sox have a potential ace in Rodon going here too and I am going to take the underdogs to get a surprise win and first Sweep of three season.
The White Sox are 5-1 in Rodon's last 6 starts, the White Sox are 6-2 in Eldon's last 8 road starts and are 8-2 in their last 10 against the A's.
The A's are 1-7 in their last 8 home games, A's are 5-2 in their last 7.starts with Sonny Gray, Gray is 0-2 against the White Sox as a starter
