Kauffman Stadium and the Kansas City Royals host the AL Central rival Minnesota Twins.
The Minnesota Twins need solid hitting and pitching to be competitive and fell just short in both areas in a 4-3 defeat at Kansas City on Friday night. Starter Ervin Santana was outstanding with a pair of runs scored on six hits over six frames with Kevin Jepsen giving up two runs to absorb the loss. The Twins totaled six hits and walked eight times with Byung Ho Park smacking a solo homer with Eduardo Escobar singling in a run and scoring. Left hander Tommy Milone gets the ball for the first time for Minnesota this season. Milone made 23 starts and one relief appearance in 2015 and went 9-5 with a 3.92 ERA.

The Kansas City Royals are out to prove they are the team once again in the American League Central. They proved tough to beat Friday as they had just enough of everything to squeeze by the rival Twins. Starter Yordano Ventura gave up a pair of runs on two hits but was wild with six bases on balls while Joakim Soria served up a solo homer. KC had some opportunities with nine hits and four free passes with Raymond Fuentes leading the way with a pair of runs driven in while Salvador Perez went 2-4 with an RBI and two runs. Veteran Ian Kennedy makes his first start for Kansas City after spending three seasons with San Diego.
The under is 15-5-1 in Minnesota last 21 Saturday games and the under is 6-2-1 in Milone’s last 9 on grass. Kansas City are 11-3 in their last 14 Saturday games and are 16-5 in their last 21 games on grass while going 6-2 in their last 8 overall. The under is 11-2-3 in the last 16 meetings and Minnesota are 20-41 in the last 61 meetings. Kennedy is battling a hamstring problem so I don’t know what to be expect from him…
