The Texas Rangers got the opening game win in Angels Stadium, Anaheim against Los Angeles Angels team that is struggling to get going.
The Rangers will hand the ball to Cole Hamels who was impressive on opening day and who has been every bit an ace for the club since arriving from Philly. Hamels had struggled with Philly perhaps because of the teams poor displays but whatever the reason he has come to Texas and pitched superbly. The Rangers Bats woke up last night in game 1 and the team combined for ten hits, every player managed to get on base and overall the Rangers played solidly to give AJ Griffen his first Major League win in almost 3 years after Tommy John surgery. The Rangers should get another good pitching effort tonight and if they can continue to find hits then wins will come. Prince Fielder, delino deshields, Adrian Beltre can make this Texas team very tough to beat and if former Nationals shortstop Ian Desmond can find his hitting stroke then this Rangers side could be one of The best in baseball come September.

The Los Angeles Angels are off to a slow start. 1-3 with four played is not the type of start this Angels team wanted as many considered this to be a team that would compete for a Division title. Obviously it is still early and we don't want to pre judge a team too quickly but the Angels will want to get a win soon and with their ace Garrett Richards on the mound they should have a decent chance at it here but he will need to be better than opening day. Richards had good stuff on the day but gave up six hits and three earned runs to the Cubs enough to get the loss. Richards and the Angels will be hoping for more from Mike Trout, Albert Pujols , Andrelton Simmoms and Yunel Escobar who are all struggling and are hitting less than .200 for a team that needs these guys to be at least close to .300 there is obvious problems for the Angels.
Rangers are 8-0 against the AL west in their last 8, Rangers are 11-0 in Hamels last 11 starts, Rangers are 5-1 in Hamels last 6 road games.
Angels are 2-5 in Richards last seven starts, Angels are 1-4 last five overall, Angels are 1-4 in last five home games.
Getting the Texas Rangers as dogs here is juts too tasty to pass up especially with Cole Hamels on the mound. Take the Rangers and cash a generous winner.
