The Chicago White Sox shoot for another win versus the visiting Cleveland Indians.
The Cleveland Indians took a late lead on Chris Sale and the White Sox only to watch their bullpen give it away in a 7-3 defeat Saturday. Starter Cody Anderson gave up a pair of runs on six hits over six frames before Bryan Shaw sauntered in and allowed five runs on four hits and a BB in 2/3 of an inning…well done. Mike Napoli slugged a two run homer and Yan Gomes went solo to give the Tribe a 3-2 lead before Shaw’s heroics saved the White Sox and sent the Tribe to a disappointing loss. The Indians send Josh Tomlin to the hill to make his season debut versus the White Sox on Sunday. Tomlin was very effective in just ten starts in 2015 with a 7-2 record and 3.02 ERA.

The Chicago White Sox received another strong performance on the mound and plenty of late scoring to upend American League Central rival Cleveland on Saturday. Sale surrendered a pair of long balls and all three runs in a seven inning stint to improve to 2-0.The bats totaled ten hits and a trio of bases on balls with Avisail Garcia Garcia going 2-4 with a homer and three RBI’s and a pair of runs while Jose Abreu went 2-2 with a pair of free passes while connecting on his second long ball of the young season. Left hander Jose Quintana makes his second start of the year when he opposes the visiting Indians. Quintana did not get a decision in a 5-4 win at Oakland despite giving up two runs over 5.2 frames.
Cleveland are 6-2 in their last 8 Sunday games and the under is 12-5-1 in their last 18 road games while the Indians are 8-1 in Tomlin’s last 9 starts. The under is 4-1-3 in the White Sox last 8 overall and the under is 4-1-3 in their last 8 on grass while the over is 7-1 in Quintana’s last 8 home starts. The under is 24-8-2 in the last 34 meetings. I like what I have seen from both hurlers but perhaps I like Quintana a tad better…
