The Baltimore Orioles make their first trip to Fenway Park to battle the Boston Red Sox.
The Baltimore Orioles are looking strong in the early going and whether they can keep it going over the long haul is the question. The Orioles offense saved the day in a 9-7 victory at Boston on Monday to bail out some shaky work on the mound. Starter Yovani Gallardo was charged with five runs on seven hits in five innings to end up with a no decision. The bats logged nine hits and walked four times with Chris Davis going 2-5 with a homer , five RBI’s and two runs with Mark Trumbo cracking a three run bomb while Manny Machado went 2-3 with a walk and a pair of runs. The Orioles send Mike Wright to the hill for the first time in 2016. Wright faced the Red Sox once last season in a 10-1 defeat where he was charged with six runs on six hits in three innings pitched.

The Boston Red Sox received plenty of offense but unfortunately the work on the mound couldn’t keep up their end of the bargain in Monday’s loss to visiting Baltimore. Even David Price couldn’t hold down the Orioles attack with five runs plated on five hits and a pair of free passes through five frames. Craig Kimbrel allowed three in the 9th to lose it and squander a decent effort at the plate. The Red Sox pounded out eleven hits and walked four times with Mookie Betts going 3-5 with a homer and two RBI’s and two runs. Jackie Bradley Jr. doubled in a pair while Brock Holt walked two times and scored twice. The Red Sox give the ball to Clay Buchholz for his second outing of the season. Buchholz struggled his first time out wit five runs allowed on six hits and three walks over four frames in a 7-6 loss at Cleveland.
Baltimore are 10-1 in their last 11 overall and are 19-7 in their last 26 games on grass. The over is 9-3 in Boston last 12 Tuesday games and Boston are 3-9 in their last 12 Tuesday games while going 9-4 in their last 13 home games. Boston are 6-2 in Buchholz’s last 8 starts versus Baltimore. I’m going over here as the numbers say one of these guys get hit hard…
