The New York Yankees head north of the border to take the field with the Toronto Blue Jays.
The New York Yankees improved to 3-2 with an 8-4 victory at Detroit on Saturday with a Sunday bout postponed. Both the arms and bats came up big with veteran CC Sabathia holding a dangerous Tigers offense to three runs on four hits and four BB over six innings to pick up the victory. The bats didn’t waste the effort with an impressive 14 hit, four walk attack that saw Alex Rodriguez smack a solo homer with Carlos Beltran going 2-4 with a homer and two RBI’s and two runs. Jacoby Ellsbury smacked a three run triple while Didi Gregorius knocked in a pair with Brian McCann scoring three times. The Yankees send out Masahiro Tanaka for his second start of the season on Tuesday night. Tanaka did not receive a decision in a 5-3 loss to Houston with a pair of runs allowed on four hits in 5.2 frames.

The Toronto Blue Jays haven’t been playing great baseball to kick off the season but are hoping to build on Sunday’s 3-0 win versus the visiting Red Sox that snapped a four game skid. The offense didn’t need to do much but didn’t have to with Marco Estrada controlling the Boston attack. Estrada threw seven scoreless innings with five hits and a pair of BB allowed while striking out eight. The Jays offense did their damage on seven hits and four bases on balls with Josh Donaldson slugging a solo homer and scoring twice with Edwin Encarnacion rapping a run scoring single. Aaron Sanchez toes the rubber for the second time on the year with his first career appearance against the Yankees. Sanchez did not get a decision in a 3-2 loss at Tampa Bay where he gave up one run on five hits in seven innings.
The under is 10-2 in New York last 12 on astroturf and the Yankees are 4-9 in their last 13 overall while going 14-6 in Tanaka’s last 20 road starts. The over is 7-2-3 in Toronto last 12 home games and the over is 10-4-5 in their last 19 on astroturf while the under is 11-5-1 in their last 17 Tuesday games. New York are 2-6 in the last 8 meetings and the under is 10-4 in the last 14 meetings. This is a good one to watch but I’m not sure about betting it…
