The Washington Nationals and Miami Marlins butt heads in game three of their series.
The Washington Nationals haven’t always been successful in Miami but great pitching and hitting got the job done Wednesday in a 7-0 victory. Starter Stephen Strasburg was dominant and in complete control throughout with three hits and a pair of BB allowed over eight scoreless innings while recording ten strikeouts. The Nats offense made sure that was a winning effort with ten hits and a trio of walks with Bryce Harper connecting on another grand slam while Ryan Zimmerman, Jason Werth and Daniel Murphy also went deep. The Washington Nationals are hoping Joe Ross can continue his hot start when he faces the Miami Marlins Wednesday. In two starts Ross has allowed one run on eight hits and four BB over 14.2 frames.

The Miami Marlins matched zeros with the visiting Nationals for six frames before Washington exploded for seven runs in the 7th to put this in the win column. Starter Adam Conley allowed four runs on eight hits and a free pass and whiffed eight through 6.1 innings to absorb the loss. Nick Wittgren and Chris Narveson allowed three more and the Marlins offense could not make a comeback. The Fish managed four hits and walked once but never could get runners on base to make something happen. Left hander Wei-Yin Chen gets the ball for the Miami Marlins Wednesday against a dangerous Washington Nationals club. Chen did not receive a decision in a 6-3 loss last time out versus Atlanta despite giving up just two runs on four hits in 6.1 innings.
The under is 9-2-1 in Washington’s last 12 road games and the Nationals are 7-2 in their last 9 overall while going 7-2 in their last 9 games on grass. The over is 8-1 in Miami’s last 9 home games and is 11-4-1 in their last 16 Wednesday games while going 12-5 in their last 17 on grass. Washington are 3-7 in the last 10 meetings in Miami. Ross has looked good so far and if he comes close to matching his performances thus far I have to back the Nationals…
