The Cleveland Indians look to climb back to .500 when they visit Comerica Park and the Detroit Tigers.
A late Cleveland Indians rally went for naught in a 10-7, ten inning defeat to Seattle on Thursday afternoon. The Indians trailed 5-0 by the 4th before the offense awoke but the work on the mound eventually did them in. Starter Cody Anderson struggled again with five runs scored on nine hits in 3.2 frames with Trevor Bauer letting in two more before Cody Allen served up a three run jack to Robinson Cano in the 10th. The Tribe totaled eight hits and walked six times with Rajai Davis going deep and driving in three while Mike Napoli erased a 7-5 deficit with a pinch hit two run bomb in the 8th. Josh Tomlin shoots for back to back wins when he takes the rubber at the Detroit Tigers. Tomlin defeated he Mets in his first start with a run allowed on four hits in five frames.

The Detroit Tigers have looked better then I expected in every area although I can’t say that Thursday following a 4-0 defeat at Kansas City where the dangerous offense never got going. Starter Mike Pelfrey was charged with all four runs (three earned) on eight hits and five bases on balls through five innings to take the loss. The Tigers struggle to just five hits and a free pass with Ian Kinsler going 2-4 with a double while Nick Castellanos singled and walked. Justin Verlander toes the rubber versus the Indians in game number one of their series. Verlander comes off of a 5-3 victory at Houston where he gave up all three runs on seven hits including a pair of homers.
Cleveland are 8-1 in their last 9 Friday games and the under is 6-2 in their last 8 overall. Detroit are 3-9 in their last 12 Friday games and the over is 7-3 in their last 10 overall while going 7-3 in their last 10 on grass. The over is 6-2 in Verlander’s last 8 starts versus Cleveland and the Indians are 18-44 in the last 62 meetings in Detroit. These teams play a ton of overs versus each other so I’ll go over…
