The Baltimore Orioles look to keep their momentum moving forward as they head into Kauffman Stadium for a set with the Kansas City Royals.
The Orioles’ hot start continued at home this week after taking two of three games from their division rivals from Toronto and while both of them came late in the game and neither were dominating by any means they chalked up two in the win column and now sit atop the AL East with an impressive 10-4 record. Baltimore will be in tough as they take to the road to face off against the defending World Series champions but with the power they have in this lineup they should be able to take advantage of a Royals rotation that that hasn’t been strong to start the season. The O’s are 12-3 in their last 15 games against a right handed starter and are 14-4 in their last 18 overall but will have to face off against Chris Young will be leaned on to outduel Yovani Gallardo who takes the ball for the Orioles.

The Royals continue to be a very fun and exciting team to watch and with a 10-5 record through the first 15 games they sit tied for the most wins in the American League with the Orioles, White Sox and Rangers and if they can get some of their starting pitching sorted out they will a force all season long. Kansas City has a ton of weapons at the dish, one of the best bullpens in baseball, and one of the best defensive teams in the league and with all things considered they have a great chance at repeating as World Series champs. The Royals are 25-10 in their last 35 games overall and are 40-18 in their last 58 home games which is trouble for the Orioles who have had most of their success at home this season with three of their four losses happening on the road. Look for that trend to continue here as the Royals get the win.
