The Houston Astros take to the road on Monday after a home date with the Red Sox last night as they head Northwest to face off with the Seattle Mariners.
The Astros have had a tough go of things to start the season and haven’t quite had the performance many expected from them coming into the year and while there is a ton of baseball left to be played you can’t help but feel a little discouraged at the moment. Jose Altuve has been his ridiculous self and both Colby Rasmus and Tyler White have shown signs of promise but overall they have been very disappointing and that starts with Dallas Keuchel who has been roughed up so far and will look to bounce back in his next outing this week. Houston will turn to Doug Fister in this one who is 1-2 so far with a 5.94 ERA and he will go up against young flamethrower Taijuan Walker who is 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA and has looked very strong behind Felix Hernandez and Hisashi Iwakuma.

The Mariners head into this one sitting with a 9-9 record and will look to jump above the .500 mark with a victory against the slumping Astros but they know it’ll take a solid outing for them to do so as the ‘Stros are feeling a little short changed so far. Seattle is 5-1 in Walker’s last six starts on four days rest and are 4-0 in their last four matchup against right handed starters and while Doug Fister has been strong in the past he certainly hasn’t been the same of late and going up against a Seattle side that always seems to play well at home and has one of the top young arms on the bump I think their futile streak continues tonight.
