The Kansas City Royals look to add another tick to the win column as they continue their series in Los Angeles against the Angels on Wednesday.
The Royals look to continue their early season success as they play their third game in as many days against the Los Angeles Angels and will look to create some separation in the AL Central with a victory. The Royals are the defending World Series champions and are playing like it to start the year and while they do have some gaps in their rotation they are going to be a very tough team to beat this season and could very well go on a run back to the World Series and perhaps claim the first back to back crowns since the Yankees turned in three at the turn of the century. Kansas City will send Chris Young to the bump as he looks to improve on his 1-3 mark and 6.41 ERA as he faces off against Nick Tropeano who is 1-0 with a 1.89 ERA to start the year.

The Angels head into tonight’s contest looking the shed the label as an underachiever and while they have been considered World Series contenders in recent years past they have fallen off a bit of late and in many circles are considered an after thought in the AL West. LA does have Mike Trout on their team though and as we have seen from him in his short career he can single handily turn a game on its head better than anyone in baseball and should be in the running for another MVP type season.
The Royals are 9-2 in their last 11 game three’s of a series, are 8-3 in their last 11 road starts from Young, and are 27-10 in their last 37 games on grass so the trends are certainly in their favour in this spot against the Halos. Los Angeles meanwhile is 1-4 in their last five home starts by Tropeano and 1-4 in their last five game three’s and while they have shown signs of brilliance in this series so far I think they will be in tough tonight against Young who will desperately be looking for a rebound.
