The Detroit Tigers travel to Target Field to open a series with the Minnesota Twins on Friday night.
The Detroit Tigers need to climb up the standings in the American League Central standings and took a step in that direction with a 7-3 victory versus visiting Oakland Thursday afternoon. Tigers starter Anibal Sanchez improved to 3-2 with a pair of runs plated on three hits and seven walks while striking out nine over 5.2 frames. The Tigers offense pounded out eleven hits and walked five times with Anthony Gose leading the way with a homer, two RBI’s and two runs while Ian Kinsler drove in a run and scored twice followed by Miguel Cabrera with an RBI and run. The Minnesota Twins hope for another quality start from Phil Hughes when the Tigers visit on Friday. Hughes was a hard luck 2-0 loser at Washington last time out with both runs allowed on six hits and two walks in seven frames.

The over is 7-2-1 in Minnesota’s last 10 overall and is 7-2-1 in their last 10 on grass while the Twins are 6-2 in their last 8 home games. I have no idea what we’ll see from Fulmer so either team could be risky but I’ll take the known…
