The New York Yankees take the field at Fenway Park Saturday night against the rival Boston Red Sox.
The New York Yankees have enjoyed their share of success at Fenway Park and were heading for a win Friday the pitching gave up all four runs late in a 4-2 defeat. Yankees starter Masahiro Tanaka gave up two runs on six hits over 6.2 frames for a no decision before Delin Betances served up a two run bomb in the 8th to absorb the loss and fall to 0-2. The Bronx Bombers logged six hits and three free passes that featured a solo homer off the bat of Alex Rodriguez while Brett Gardner singled in Gigi Gregorius. The New York Yankees are hoping Michael Pineda can control the Boston offense when he takes the hill Saturday. Pineda comes off of an 8-1 loss to Tampa Bay with seven runs scored on ten hits including four homers in five frames.

The Boston Red Sox looked lifeless at the plate until late and stayed competitive because of a great effort on the mound. That was somewhat surprising given the struggles of Red Sox starter Henry Owens whose control problems are well documented. Owens gave up both runs on six hits and three base on balls through six innings for a no decision. The Boston attack consisted of eight hits with David Ortiz cracking a two run bomb while Jackie Bradley Jr. ripped a two run double. Rick Porcello shoots for his 5th straight win to begin the season when he opposes the Yankees. Porcello defeated Atlanta 1-0 in his last start with four hits and a pair of BB given up while whiffing six in 6.1 innings.
The under is 8-3-2 in the Yankees last 13 overall and New York are 4-10 in their last 14 overall while the under is 7-3-2 in their last 12 on grass. Boston are 7-2 in their last 9 Saturday games and the under is 13-5 in their last 18 home games while the under is 11-5-1 in Porcello’s last 17 on grass. The Yankees are 8-2 in the last 10 meetings in Boston. I like Porcello to control the Yankees bats here…
