The New York Yankees invade Camden Yards for game one of a series with the Baltimore Orioles.
The New York Yankees have had problems scoring in 2016 which has led to five straight defeats although it was the pitching to blame for Sunday’s 8-7 loss at Boston. Yankees starter Nathan Eovaldi was charged with six runs on ten hits and a trio of BB over five frames but did not figure in the decision. The Yanks totaled nine hits and a pair of walks with Alex Rodriguez going 2-4 with a homer and four RBI’s with two runs while Jacobi Ellsbury went 2-2 with two runs and an RBI. The New York Yankees turn to Luis Severino to snag his first win at Baltimore Tuesday. Severino looks to bounce back from a 10-1 loss at Texas where he was charged with six runs on seven hits and a pair of BB in three innings.
USA TODAY Sports
The Baltimore Orioles were flying high with first in the American League East belonging to them but back to back defeats have dropped the Birds to second. The Orioles were stymied 7-1 by Chris Sale and the White Sox who rode a five run 5th to an easy win. O’s starter Ubaldo Jimenez was in constant trouble and was charged with six runs on seven hits and four free passes through 4.2 innings to fall to 1-3. The Baltimore offense logged eight hits and six walks but manag’ed just an RBI single from Nolan Reimold that plated Chris Davis with the only run. Chris Tillman toes the rubber against the New York Yankees for the first time in 2016. Tillman comes in off of a 3-1 victory at Tampa Bay with two hits given up in 6.2 scoreless frames with nine K’s.
The Yankees are 8-20 in their last 28 games on grass and the under is 9-4-3 in their last 16 overall. Baltimore are 19-7 in their last 26 home games and are 18-8 in their last 26 games on grass while the under is 11-5-2 in Tillman’s last 18 on grass. I’m looking for the Orioles to and Tillman to make it stand up…
