The Cleveland Indians and Detroit Tigers butt heads in an AL Central rivalry Wednesday.
The Detroit Tigers can still get it done at the plate but that wasn’t the case Tuesday and when the pitching struggled a 7-3 loss at Cleveland wasn’t all that surprising. Tigers starter Justin Verlander was off his game with seven runs scored on eight hits and three BB over five frames to absorb the loss. The Tigers offense totaled 12 hits and walked once with Ian Kinsler going 2-5 with a homer and two RBI’s while Nick Castellanos rapped a run scoring single. Anibal Sanchez gets Wednesday’s start at AL Central rival Cleveland. Sanchez comes in off of a 7-3 win against the Athletics with two runs scored on three hits and seven BB in 5.2 frames.

The Cleveland Indians of loads of talent in a lot of areas but their problem is getting all that talent on the same page on a more consistent basis. The Tribe totaled ten hits and four walks with Francisco Lindor leading the way on a 3-4 night that featured a homer, three RBI’s and three runs while Mike Napoli and knocked in a pair and scored. The Cleveland Indians go with Corey Kluber on the mound to oppose Detroit for the second time in 2016. Kluber won the first match up 10-1 with two hits including a solo jack given up in eight innings while whiffing ten.
Detroit are 13-3 in their last 16 Wednesday games and the over is 42-20-4 in their last 66 road games while going 5-1-2 in Sanchez’s last 8 road starts. The over is 25-11-1 in Cleveland’s last 37 home games and the under is 7-2 in Kluber’s last 9 Wednesday starts while the Indians are 2-6 in Kluber’s last 8 starts on grass. The over is 21-5 in the last 26 meetings in Cleveland and Detroit are 21-8 in the last 29 meetings in Cleveland. I don’t know if laying the juice is the wisest of moves but…
