The Line: San Diego Padres -105 / Colorado Rockies -105 --- Over/Under: 7.5 See the Latest Odds
The Colorado Rockies look to continue their heavy hitting as they face off against the San Diego Padres on Wednesday afternoon.
The Rockies look to put up another strong outing with Tyler Chatwood on the mound as they seem to find ways to win games when he starts and with their bats going up against the Padres’ Cesar Vargas. Colorado has some pretty nice power in their lineup led by Nolan Arenado and the rookie sensation Trevor Story but they have a full order of guys who can get on base and while this series is being played at the pitcher friendly Petco Park they should be able to continue piling up the runs. Chatwood is 3-2 with a 2.73 ERA to start the year while Vargas is 0-0 with a 0.87 ERA.

The Padres meanwhile are 10-16 heading into Tuesday night’s contest and are sitting right around where many expected them in the NL West as they don’t have the lineup to be competitive with the big three. San Diego has been able to put up some impressive numbers on a small sample size this season and while many expected another outing like that against the Rockies they have been pretty quiet and we could see another light hitting day from them here against Chatwood.
The Rockies are 4-0 in Chatwood’s last four road starts, 5-1 in his last six against a team with a losing record, but are 7-20 in their last 27 games on a Wednesday. The Padres meanwhile are 6-14 in their last 20 against the NL West, 1-4 in their last five Wednesday games, and 4-9 in their last 13 against a righty which sets up a tough outing for them again here. Chatwood continues his nice start as the Rcokies bats carry him to victory.
