The Philadelphia Phillies look to continue their recent success as they face off against the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium on Wednesday night.
The Phillies look to tip the oddsmakers once again and win their second game in as many nights as they face off against the St. Louis Cardinals in Missouri as they send Adam Morgan to the bump as he will face off against the struggling Mike Leake. Philadelphia heads into tonight’s game with a surprising 15-11 record and they will look to keep rolling in the NL East with another win here against an underachieving Cardinals side who is starting to slip in many power rankings and out of contendership all together from others. Morgan will look for his first win of the season as he is 0-0 with a 5.40 ERA, while Leake sits with an 0-3 mark and a 5.83 ERA.

The Cardinals were shutout at home yesterday as their lackluster start continues but they have a great chance at getting back in the win column as their dormant bats look to break out against Adam Morgan and his climbing ERA. St. Louis continues to have a pretty solid roster across the board but they have fallen out of the league’s elite and could very well be battling just to nab a wild card spot this season and in some lights that is even seen as a stretch as the years of St. Louis being the team to beat in the National League appear to be on hold.
The Phillies are 6-1 in their last seven games overall, 7-2 in their last nine road games, and 4-1 in their last five on a Wednesday while the Cards are 6-1 in their last seven during game three of a series, 4-1 in their last five home games against a lefty, and 87-41 in their last 128 home games. The Phils have been playing well but I don’t expect to see that here as the Cards need a rebound effort and it comes here against Morgan.
