The Boston Red Sox look to build on their come back victory on the South side of Chicago yesterday as they continue their series at the Cell against the Chicago White Sox.
The Red Sox gave up two runs in the first inning but shut it down from there and cruised to a 5-2 victory against one of the league’s hottest teams and can make it two in a row with another one on Thursday night as they send Erik Johnson to the mound who will face off against Henry Owens. Boston is 15-10 through their first 25 contests and will look to chalk up another in the win column against a White Sox team that has been one of the league’s best this season with a 19-8 mark and have a very strong lineup that rivals some of the best in the Majors, including Boston.

The White Sox head into this game looking to reach the 20 win mark which would make them the only American League team to reach it so far and would join their running mates from Wrigley as the only two in the league to do so. Chicago isn’t just built on the power of their lineup as they do have some speed as well and a rotation that is underrated after Chris Sale as guys like Carlos Rodon and Mat Latos have looked very good so far.
The Red Sox are 7-1 in their last eight games against a righty, 4-1 in their last five road games, and 21-9 following a game in which their opponent gives up five or more in the previous outing. Chicago meanwhile is 7-1 in their last eight when their opponent scores five or more in their previous outing, 4-1 in their last five homes games and 8-3 in their last 11 against a lefty at home setting up another great game between these two. In the end, I like the White Sox to bounce back as they have been the better team this season and I think they get back in the win column against Owens.
