The Arizona Diamondbacks and the Atlanta Braves butt heads at Turner Field on Saturday.
The Arizona Diamondbacks have been struggling to win games so facing a Braves squad that was having an even tougher time was just what the doctor ordered in a 7-2 victory Friday. Diamondbacks starter Zack Greinke hadn’t been off to a great start with his new team but looked just fine Friday with both runs scored on seven hits while whiffing eight over six frames. The Snakes did their damage on ten hits and five walks with Brandon Drury smacking a solo homer with Welington Castillo driving in two runs while David Peralta scored twice and drove in a run. A struggling Shelby Miller gets the ball from the Arizona Diamondbacks against the Braves. Miller has yet to find the groove and has gone 0-3 with a 1.97 WHIP and 8.49 ERA.

There is not much to say for the Atlanta Braves as everyone knows their record and everyone knows the only solution is better work on the mound and at the plate. That didn’t happen for the Braves in the series opener versus the visiting Diamondbacks with starter Aaron Blair charged with three runs (two earned) on five hits and four bases on balls through five innings to fall to 0-2 while four relievers couldn’t keep Arizona at bay. The Bravos logged ten hits and walked once with Adonis Garcia and Tyler Flowers driving in runs. Right hander Julio Teheran toes the rubber versus the visiting Diamondbacks Saturday. Teheran is coming off his best start in a 4-3 loss at the Cubs with seven scoreless innings for a no decision.
Atlanta are 3-12 in their last 15 Saturday games and the over is 21-7 in their last 28 Saturday games while the Braves are 10-27 in their last 37 home games. The Diamondbacks are 7-19 in the last 26 meetings in Atlanta. I can’t advocate betting the Braves but this might be a rare chance to win…
