The Line: Los Angeles Dodgers +110 / New York Mets -120 --- Over/Under: 7 See the Latest Odds
The New York Mets continue their road swing on the West coast with another outing against the Los Angeles Dodgers at the Ravine on Tuesday.
The Mets look to continue their strong start to the season as they sent Jacob deGrom to the mound on Tuesday night as they young Mets ace looks to improve to 4-1 on the year and reduce his already miniscule 1.99 ERA. New York was 19-11 heading into last night’s outing against the Dodgers and were controlling the game early and now with Alex Wood on the bump for LA it looks like a great spot for the Mets to add another to win the column as he has stumbled to a 1-3 record with a 5.18 ERA.

The Dodgers are 15-15 on the season and haven’t quite hit their stride despite having a very strong roster and while they are still the team to beat according to many in the NL West they are going to have some company for most of the season. Los Angeles does have a very solid rotation as well and face one of a very few group of teams that outclass them in that department as beyond Kershaw the Mets outmatch LA in every other tandem. Los Angeles will look to send deGrom to his second loss but they know it’ll be a tough night getting on base as he is one of the best in the league right now.
The Mets are 4-0 in their last four games against a team with a winning record, 15-5 in their last 20 overall, and 11-1 in deGrom’s last 12 starts against a team with a winning record while the Dodgers are 1-6 in their last seven home games, 2-5 in their last seven against a righty, but 7-1 in their last eight against a team with a winning road record. This series is going to come down to pitching and while the Dodgers may get one with Kershaw going I think the Mets get it here as deGrom outclasses Wood for another New York win.
