The Los Angeles Angels look to play their way back into the win column as they take to the road to face off against the Seattle Mariners on Friday night.
The Angels look for a pivotal road win against a division rival on Friday night as they kick off a series with the Mariners at Safeco Field and they badly need a series victory to find their game and what better place than on the road against a team in the AL West. Los Angeles has the lineup to be competitive in a relatively weak division but their rotation hasn’t been great and beyond Mike Trout they haven’t been able to do much at the dish which is shaping up for a disappointing season from the Halos who have gone from perennial AL contenders to league doormats over the span of a couple seasons.

The M’s meanwhile are trending in the other direction as they have a very solid lineup led by the rejuvenated Robinson Cano and have a rotation capable of making a serious push in the playoffs led by Felix Hernandex, Hisashi Iwakuma, and Taijuan Walker. Seattle sits with an impressive 21-13 record heading into tonight’s game and are certainly in the driver’s seat in the AL West and while there is a ton of baseball left to be played the Mariners are looking like a team that can contend for an AL pennant and a strong home series against a division rival would be a huge boost.
The Angels are 10-21 in their last 31 on the road against a team with a winning home record, 0-5 in their last five overall, and 1-4 in Nick Tropeano’s last five starts while the Mariners are 5-1 in their last six home games, 8-3 in their last 11 against the AL West, and 19-7 in their last 26 overall which sets up another favourable match up here against the Angels. Seattle is starting Nate Karns and he should give Seattle the edge on the bump and I like them to get the win on Friday night.
