The Pittsburgh Pirates go with Jeff Locke on the mound for game two of their series at Wrigley. Locke did not get a decision in a 6-4 loss at St. Louis with three runs plated on four hits and two BB in six innings.

The Chicago Cubs are off to a shockingly good start and things only got better following Friday’s series opening win versus visiting Pittsburgh. The Cubs put everything together with starter Jason Hammel giving up two runs (one earned) on eight hits and a pair of free passes through 6.2 innings to improve to 5-0. The Cubbies attack featured eleven hits and four walks with Kris Bryant, Addison Russell and David Ross smacking long balls and combining for eight runs driven in. The Chicago Cubs send ace Jake Arrieta out for the start in game two versus the Pirates on Saturday. Arrieta allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits and four BB in a 4-3 win versus Washington but did not get the decision.
