The Boston Red Sox collide with the Houston Astros at Fenway Park on Sunday.
Beating the Red Sox is no small feat nowadays and the Houston Astros almost did it on consecutive days before the pen coughed up a 9th inning lead and then lost it in the 11th, 6-5 on Saturday. Astros starter Collin McHugh allowed four runs on ten hits and three walks over six frames before Luke Gregerson recorded a BS with a run in the 9th before Michael Felix allowed an 11th inning run to absorb the loss. The Stros posted eleven hits and six walks with George Stringer connecting on a grand slam and Carlos Correa going solo. Rookie Chris Devenski gets the start Sunday versus the Red Sox in his 4th career outing. Devenski comes off of a 4-0 loss to Cleveland with a pair of runs given up on five hits and two BB in 6.2 innings.

Boston pounded out 14 hits and walked five times with David Ortiz slugging a two run bomb an singling in the winner in the 11th. Mookie Betts drove in a run and scored while Xander Bogaerts went 3-6 with three runs and an RBI. Veteran Sean O’Sullivan makes his second start for the Boston Red Sox on Sunday. O’Sullivan won his Boston debut 13-5 versus Oakland with four runs plated on 12 hits over six frames.
