The Toronto Blue Jays pay a visit to Target Field Thursday to open a series with the Minnesota Twins.

The Toronto Blue Jays had high hopes of making another run at the postseason but have been stumbling with five consecutive defeats following a 6-3 loss to visiting Tampa Bay Wednesday. Neither the arms or bats were strong enough with Blue Jays starter RA Dickey charged with five runs (four earned) on eight hits including three homers over six frames to get the loss. The Jays attack consisted of four hits and four walks with Michael Saunders, Jimmy Paredes and Edwin Encarnacion smacking solo jacks. The Blue Jays are slated to send Marco Estrada to the hill Thursday for the series opener at Target Field. Estrada comes off of a 6-5 loss at Texas with five runs plated (four earned) on five hits and four BB over six innings.

The Minnesota Twins record speaks for itself and they are better then advertised but they are digging a very deep hole.  The hole got deeper following a 6-3 defeat Detroit Wednesday afternoon for their 9th loss in eleven contests. Twins starter Ricky Nolasco was charged with four runs (two earned)on nine hits through five innings with Taylor Rogers allowing two more on four hits in two frames. Minnesota posted seven hits and walked three times with Trevor Plouffe going 2-4 with a pair of RBI’s and a run while Danny Santana hit a sacrifice fly. The Minnesota Twins send Ervin Santana to the hill in the series opener versus visiting Toronto. Santana comes off his first win in a 6-3 decision at Cleveland with a lone run allowed on five hits in six frames.

The under is 11-3 in Toronto’s last 14 on grass and  is 8-3-1 in their last 12 Thursday games while going  18-7-2 in their last 27 road games. The over is 18-6-2 in Minnesota’s last 26 overall and is 18-6-2 in their last 26 on grass while the Twins  are 2-6 in their last 8 Thursday games. The Blue Jays are 42-16 in the last 58 meetings. Toronto has the better pitcher and is struggling and Minnesota has a decent pitcher and can’t win and my advice is to look elsewhere because I am…
