The Chicago White Sox and Kansas City Royals continue their series at U.S. Cellular on Saturday.
The Kansas City Royals have the majority of the pieces that made them so successful in 2015 but have yet to show it. I get the feeling the Royals might be on the verge of doing something after Friday’s 4-1 win at the White Sox was their 4th victory in five contests. KC starter Dillon Gee was fantastic with the lone run given up on four hits over five frames with four relievers putting up zeros. Kansas City racked up 12 hits with Paulo Orlando going 3-4 with a pair of RBI’s and a run while Lorenzo Cain drove in a run and scored. Danny Duffy makes his second start of the season for the Royals when he opposes the White Sox Saturday. Duffy had a successful first outing with 3.1 scoreless innings versus Atlanta but was held to just 48 pitches as he returns from injury.

After slowing down over the last few weeks the Chicago White Sox could certainly use a few wins to get back on track. The White Soz need a shift in momentum with a loss to division rival Kansas City being their 5th defeat in six contests. CWS starter Jose Quintana was not as sharp as usual with all four runs given up on eight hits through six innings to absorb the loss. Chicago managed six hits and three bases on balls with Austin Jackson singling in Melky Cabrera with the only run. The White Sox send Miguel Gonzalez to the mound for his 4th start of the season on Saturday. Gonzalez did not get a decision last time out in a 7-5 loss at the Yankees with three runs plated on five hits and five BB over 4.2 innings.
Kansas City are 3-12 in their last 15 road games and the under is 14-2 in Duffy’s last 16 starts overall while going 7-1 in Duffy’s last 8 road starts. The over is 12-4-3 in Chicago’s last 19 Saturday games and is 12-4 in their last 16 home games while the White Sox are 8-3 in their last 11 Saturday games. Kansas City are 21-7 in the last 28 meetings in Chicago and the over is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings. Given the Royals success in this match up I’d look at them or walk away…
