The Seattle Mariners are sitting atop the American League West and they are there because the offense has shown a little punch. The Mariners offense struck again in an 8-3 victory at Cincinnati to guarantee their position atop the division. M’s starter Hisashi Iwakuma gave up three runs on six hits and three BB over six frames to get the win. Seattle did their damage on ten hits and six walks with Dae-Ho Lee going 2-2 with a homer and three RBI’s while Nelson Cruz went solo. The Mariners send ace Felix Hernandez to the hill who is looking for his 4th win. The Reds managed eight hits and walked three times with Zack Cozart going deep while Tucker Barnhart went 3-4 with an RBI.Cincinnati is slated to send John Lamb to the bump for his first career meeting with the Mariners.
