The AL West leading Seattle Mariners and Cincinnati Reds butt heads at Great American Ball Park on Saturday.

The Seattle Mariners are sitting atop the American League West and they are there because the offense has shown a little punch. The Mariners offense struck again in an 8-3 victory at Cincinnati to guarantee their position atop the division. M’s starter Hisashi Iwakuma gave up three runs on six hits and three BB over six frames to get the win. Seattle did their damage on ten hits and six walks  with Dae-Ho Lee going 2-2 with a homer and three RBI’s while Nelson Cruz went solo. The Mariners send ace Felix Hernandez to the hill who is looking for his 4th win. Hernandez is coming off of a 3-0 loss to the Angels with all three runs allowed on seven hits  and two BB over 7.1 innings.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Seattle Mariners - 5/21/16 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The rebuilding Cincinnati Reds need their arms and bats on the same page to be successful. The Reds struggles continued with the series opening loss to visiting Seattle saddling the team with five consecutive defeats. Cinci starter Daniel Straily allowed a single run in six innings for a no decision as Blake Wood allowed four runs without recording an out while JC Ramirez and Jose Rafeal Diaz allowed three more runs. The Reds managed eight hits and walked three times with Zack Cozart going deep while Tucker Barnhart went 3-4 with an RBI.Cincinnati is slated to send John Lamb to the bump for his first career meeting with the Mariners. Lamb is looking to rebound from a 15-6 loss at Cleveland where he was charged with seven runs on ten hits in four frames.

The over is 6-2-2 in Seattle’s last 10 interleague games and  is 6-2-1 in their last 9 overall while going  6-2-1 in their last 9 on grass. Cincinnati are 7-22 in their last 29 interleague games and  are 16-40 in their last 56 overall while going  16-40 in their last 56 games on grass. Seattle are 7-1 in the last 8 meetings. I have to go with the King, right or wrong…
