The Cleveland Indians tangle with the Chicago White Sox in game two of their doubleheader on Monday.
The Cleveland Indians are not a team to be facing when they are playing well. The Indians had won five straight before heading in to their doubleheader on back to back defeats. The Tribe are in a tough AL Central but have a solid rotation that can match up with most teams from top to bottom assuming they maintain some depth and remain relatively healthy. The Tribe also have an offense that can score in bunches and when the arms and bats are on the same page this is a team nobody should want to face.Cleveland has called up Cody Anderson from the minors to start the second game of the twin bill at the White Sox. On the year Anderson has logged an 0-3 record with a 1.78 WHIP and 7.99 ERA.

The first place Chicago White Sox are mired in a slump right now and need to right the ship. The White Sox had dropped eight of ten but head in to the twin bill with a win against Kansas City which is always a good thing. The White Sox are not getting enough quality pitching and hitting on the same page over the past few weeks and that has hurt them in the win column and eroded their lead in the American League Central and that’s not a good thing with Kansas City, Detroit and Cleveland waiting to pounce. Mat Latos toes the rubber in the night cap of the doubleheader versus the visiting Indians. Latos has struggled the past four times out with18 runs given up over 20.2 frames.
Cleveland are 7-20 in their last 27 Monday games and the over is 9-1 in Anderson’s last 10 starts overall while going 13-3 in Anderson’s last 16 starts on grass. Chicago are 7-1 in their last 8 Monday games and the under is 18-7-2 in their last 27 home games while the White Sox are 6-2 in Latos' last 8 starts. Cleveland are 6-2 in the last 8 meetings in Chicago and the under is 24-9-2 in the last 35 meetings. Latos and Clevenger are scheduled for game two so I’ll go over and check on the pitching later…
