The Washington Nationals are playing well and have to with the Mets right on top of them in the NL East. Sometimes the Nationals don’t show up and Monday was one of those nights with neither the arms or bats being competitive. Nats starter suffered through his worst start of the season with all seven runs scoring on ten hits including a trio of homers through five innings to fall to 3-2. The Washington bats couldn’t keep pace with a six hit, two walk attack with Ryan Zimmerman driving in Jayson Werth with the lone run. Stephen Strasburg gets the ball for the Nationals for his second straight start versus the Mets. Strasburg defeated New York 9-1 last time out with the lone run plated on six hits while striking out ten in six frames.
The under is 10-4 in the Mets last 14 overall and is 10-4 in their last 14 on grass while the over is 8-3 in Harvey’s last 11 road starts. The under is 6-2-1 in Washington’s last 9 Tuesday’s games and the Nationals are 11-1 in Strasburg’s last 12 home starts while going 21-5 in Strasburg’s last 26 starts. Washington are 7-3 in Strasburg’s last 10 starts versus New York and the Mets are 27-55 in the last 82 meetings. Right or wrong you have to like the way Strasburg is throwing…
