The Tampa Bay Rays seemed to be finding their way a few weeks ago but their fortunes have changed for the worse. The Rays had lost six of seven so Saturday’s victory was crucial. TB starter Matt Moore improved to 2-3 with three runs scored on eight hits and three free passes through 6.2 innings before Enny Romero allowed two runs in 2/3 of an inning. Tampa Bay mustered 13 hits and walked twice with Evan Longoria going 2-4 with a homer and four runs driven in while Hank Conger also going deep. Tampa Bay sends Jake Odorizzi to the hill to face the visiting Yankees Sunday. Odorizzi was at his best in a 4-3 win at Miami with two hits and three BB given up over five frames.
