The Chicago White Sox and New York Mets begin a three-game series Monday afternoon on ESPN.
The Chicago White Sox could use a win in order to snap a six-game losing streak. The White Sox have allowed 20 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in seven straight games. The Chicago White Sox have an ERA of 3.51 and have lost seven of their last eight games when allowing more than three runs. Offensively, Adam Eaton leads Chicago with 57 hits, Melky Cabrera has 24 RBI and Todd Frazier has 15 home runs. Jose Quintana gets the ball, and he’s 5-4 with a 2.22 ERA and 60 strikeouts this season. This will be Quintana’s first career game against the Mets.

The New York Mets look for a win after splitting their last six games. The Mets have scored nine runs in their last three games and three or less runs in nine of their last 13 games. The New York Mets offense is struggling lately, and they’ve lost seven of their last 11 games when scoring three or less runs. Asdrubal Cabrera leads New York with 49 hits, Yoenis Cespedes has 36 RBI and Neil Walker has 11 home runs. Matt Harvey takes the hill, and he’s 3-7 with a 6.08 ERA and 44 strikeouts this season. This will be Harvey’s second career game against the White Sox.
The White Sox are 8-2 in their last 10 Monday games and 2-6 in Quintanas last 8 interleague starts. The Mets are 22-4 in their last 26 Monday games and 1-4 in Harveys last 5 starts.
Both clubs are in a bit of a funk, as the White Sox have cooled off big time from their hot start and the Mets can't score runs as of late. So, I give the slight edge to the home team. Besides, Harvey is due for a breakout performance eventually, right?
