The San Francisco Giants look to even their series at Turner Field versus the Atlanta Braves.
The San Francisco Giants look like the crème of the crop in the National League West but it’s too early to concede the division to them. The Giants have been winning consistently and despite a 5-3 loss at Atlanta Monday the team has still won eight of eleven. SF starter Jeff Samardzija fell to 7-3 with all five runs given up (four earned) on six hits and a pair of BB over five frames. The Giants mustered six hits and walked twice with Brandon Belt going 2-4 with a homer and two runs while Brandon Crawford knocked in a run. Veteran Jake Peavy takes the hill at Turner Field Tuesday versus the Atlanta Braves. Peavy comes off a 4-3 victory with a lone run plated on six hits and a free pass over 6.2 innings.

The Atlanta Braves are not going to win the National League East so reaching respectability is their goal. The Braves have won three of four which is very good for a team that has won 15 times on the season. Bravos starter Mike Foltynewicz evened his record at 2-2 with a single run plated on three hits and a pair of free passes through six innings before Arodys Vizcaino gave up two runs to make things interesting. Atlanta logged six hits and walked twice with Mailex Smith leading the way with a three run triple while Nick Markakis went 2-4 with a run and RBI. Matt Wisler is slated to face San Francisco for the first time in his career on Tuesday. Wisler fell to the Brewers 6-2 last time out with three runs scored six hits in six frames.
The under is 7-1 in San Francisco’s last 8 Tuesday games and the Giants are 12-2 in their last 14 road games while the under is 8-2 in their last 10 road games. The under is 5-2-1 in Atlanta’s last 8 overall and is 5-2-1 in their last 8 on grass while the Braves are 15-37 in their last 52 home games. San Francisco are 9-4 in the last 13 meetings. Peavy is not very good so it will be the Giants offense that has to come through against a decent hurler…
