The Chicago White Sox collide with the New York Mets in interleague action on Tuesday.
The Chicago White Sox can’t regain the momentum they had when they stormed their way to the top of the American League Central. The White Sox struggles continued in a 1-0 loss at Citi Field Tuesday as the offense was silent to saddle the team with defeats in 10-12. Chicago starter Jose Quintana was a tough luck loser with a homer accounting for the lone run over seven frames that dropped his record to 5-5. The CWS attack consisted of two hits and a walk with Jose Abreu and JB Shuck recording singles. The White Sox hand the ball to veteran Mat Latos for Tuesday’s match up with the Mets. Latos comes off a 7-6 victory versus visiting Cleveland with three runs scored on five hits including a pair of homers over six innings.

The New York Mets have the pitching and overall talent to capture the National League East for the second straight year. The Mets stayed hot with Tuesday’s victory but more important was a solid performance on the mound from Matt Harvey who was struggling. Harvey upped his record to 4-7 with a two hit shutout through seven innings with two relievers not allowing a runner which included save number 17 by Jeurys Familia. The New York offense totaled seven hits and two bases on balls with Neil Walker supplying the scoring with his 12th homer. A red hot Steven Matz shoots for his 8th victory of the season when he opposes the White Sox for the first time. Matz earned a 2-0 win at Washington last time out with a four hitter in seven frames.
The over is 13-2-1 in the White Sox last 16 road games and Chicago are 7-2 in Latos' last 9 start while going 7-2 in Latos' last 9 starts on grass. The over is 8-3 in the Mets last 11 interleague games and New York are 13-6 in their last 19 home games. I prefer Matz here and the Mets at home…
