The Texas Rangers conclude their weekday series at the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday.
The Texas Rangers might lose a few here and there but always come back strong which is why they sit atop the American League West. The Rangers are clicking right now with wins in nine of eleven after downing Cleveland 7-3 on Tuesday. Texas starter Colby Lewis tossed six scoreless frames to get the win with Tony Barnettte allowing a pair of runs. The Rangers offense took care of the rest on eleven hits with Bryan Holaday going 2-4 with two RBI’s and two runs while Jurickson go solo and scoring twice. Ian Desmond drove in a pair and scored and every starter but two reached base. Left hander Cole Hamels gets the ball in the final game of the series at Cleveland. Hamels is coming off his poorest start of the season where he was charged with six runs (five earned) on eight hits over 4.2 innings in a 9-1 defeat to Pittsburgh.

The Cleveland Indians have slowed the past week which is why they are not in first in the American League Central. The slowdown continued Tuesday and with that the Indians are staring at defeats in four of five. Tribe starter Corey Kluber was charged with six runs on eight hits including a pair of long balls through seven innings to absorb the loss. Cleveland logged eight hits and walked three times with Lonnie Chisenhall going 3-4 with a homer and three runs driven in while Jose Ramirez was 2-4 with a two runs scored. The Indians send Trevor Bauer to the hill versus the Rangers who he last saw in 2014. Bauer comes off a 6-4 defeat to visiting Baltimore with three runs plated on nine hits and a pair of BB in six frames.
Texas are 18-4 in Hamels' last 22 starts and are 17-4 in Hamels' last 21 starts on grass while going 8-2 in Hamels' last 10 road starts. The over is 37-14-1 in Cleveland’s last 52 home games and are 2-6 in Bauer’s last 8 starts while going 2-6 in Bauer’s last 8 starts on grass. The over is 5-2-1 in the last 8 meetings and the Rangers are 3-7 in the last 10 meetings in Cleveland. The Indians hit lefties well so this might be a bit dangerous but I’ll go with the hot team…
