The Los Angeles Dodgers look to get back in the win column after a tough loss yesterday as they continue their series at Wrigley against the Chicago Cubs on Thursday.
The Los Angeles Dodgers suffered a tough 2-1 loss at Wrigley yesterday and were in a position to get the victory for the second time in as many nights but the Cubs had other ideas and made up for blowing another Jake Arrieta gem the night before with a victory yesterday. The Dodgers have been one of the hottest teams in the league over the last two weeks and will look to get back in the win column in this one as they send Julio Urias to the mound who will face off against Kyle Hendricks. The Dodgers’ rookie didn’t play overly well in his season debut but will be out to make amends here as he takes on Hendricks who has become another good arm in the Cubs’ rotation despite a 3-4 record.

The Cubs meanwhile got back on track after blowing the series opener on Tuesday night and can gain the upper hand with another strong outing here tonight, this time against one of the top prospects in the Dodgers system. Chicago has been excellent all season long and are World Series contenders for a reason as they are loaded across the board with a strong rotation and even more imposing lineup and with Arrieta and Lester manning the front end of the rotation we get to another serviceable arm here in Hendricks who is lotted as the number three ahead of Jason Hammel right now.
The Dodgers are 4-1 in their last five against the NL Central, 7-2 in their last nine overall, and 6-2 in their last eight against a righty, while the Cubs are 8-2 in their last 10 against a team with a winning road record, 47-20 in their last 67 overall, and 5-1 in Hendricks’ last six Thursday starts. These two teams do match up well with each other and while Urias may give the Dodgers the edge on the bump here I think the Cubs are too good to have their lineup held in check for this long and I think they go off on the Dodgers rookie today.
