The Boston Red Sox hope to extend their lead in the AL East when the Toronto Blue Jays visit on Friday.
The Toronto Blue Jays have suddenly found the groove and are hoping to ride the momentum to the top of the AL East. The Blue Jays have won eight of ten after knocking off the Yankees 7-0 on Wednesday. Jays starter Aaron Sanchez improved to 5-1 with seven hits and a pair of BB given up over 6.2 scoreless frames. The Toronto offense was solid as well on 12 hits and a trio of walks with Edwin Encarnacion and Justin Smoak each driving in two runs while Darwin Barney went 3-5 with two runs. Veteran RA Dickey will be on the mound for his second straight match up with the Red Sox. Dickey dropped a 5-3 decision to Boston with three runs allowed on three hits and four BB over 5.1 innings.

The Boston Red Sox sit atop the American League East simply because they have limited the bad times. The Red Sox pitching took a beating for the second straight day in an 12-7 loss at Baltimore Thursday for back to back defeats. Boston starter Rick Porcello was charged with five runs on six hits including three homers before Junichi Tazawa served up two homers and three runs while Noe Ramirez was tagged for two solo bombs. The Red Sox pounded out 12 hits and walked twice with David Ortiz slamming a three run bomb while Xander Bogaerts went2-5 with three RBI’s and a run. Ace left hander David Price faces the Blue Jays for the second consecutive time. Price defeated Toronto 5-3 with a pair of runs given up on five hits and three BB in 6.1 frames.
Toronto are 7-1 in their last 8 overall and the under is 20-5-1 in their last 26 road games while going 16-5 in their last 21 on grass. The over is 11-2-2 in Boston’s last 15 home games and are 13-3 in their last 16 home games while the over is 6-2-1 in their last 9 overall. The under is 6-2-2 in Dickey’s last 10 starts versus Boston and the under is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings. I’m going with Boston and hope that the offense keeps scoring and Price does his thing…
