The Los Angeles Dodgers look to bring out the big sticks as they battle the lowly Atlanta Braves when the teams continue their series on Sunday.
The Braves continue their series at the Ravine on Sunday and they will look to get some kind of momentum going as they have had a very tough start to the season and as of Saturday they were a measly 16-38 on the year and don’t appear to improving any time soon. Atlanta doesn’t have a ton of weapons to work with at the dish or on the mound and could very well become sellers at the trade deadline and while that is unlikely to include Freddie Freeman you can bet there will be calls about the first baseman who is Atlanta’s best player and main source of offensive output. The Braves will send Matt Wisler to the mound who will face off against Scott Kazmir who is out to improve on his shaky start to the year.

Los Angeles is but two games above the .500 mark heading into Saturday night’s action and haven’t quite hit their stride but are certainly still in the mix in the National League West division race and should stay there for most of the season. The Dodgers have a ton of pop at the plate and the best pitcher in baseball but need to find a bit more consistency in both areas if they’re going to stay in the hunt with the San Francisco Giants among others in the division. The Dodgers are in good shape here though as the Braves are among the worst teams in baseball and have the edge on the mound here with Kazmir facing off with Wisler.
The Braves are 3-9 in their last 12 road games against a lefty, 0-4 in their last four Sunday games, and 1-38 in their last 54 overall while the Dodgers are 5-0 in their last five home games, 4-1 in their last five against he NL East and 11-5 in their last 16 in a game three. The Dodgers heat up at the plate today and get another win while the Braves continue to slump.
