The Philadelphia Phillies lock horns with the Milwaukee Brewers in their series finale’.
The Milwaukee Brewers are tough to nail down as they seem capable of beating anybody but just not consistently. The Brewers bounced back from a series opening loss to knock off the Phillies 6-3 on Saturday. Brew Crew starter Junior Guerra allowed three runs on six hits including a pair of homers over six frames with three relievers putting up zeros. Milwaukee managed ten hits and five walks with Domingo Santana doing deep and scoring twice with Jonathan Villar going 3-5 with a homer and two RBI’s while Scooter Gennett drove in two runs. The Brewers hand the ball to Wily Peralta for the series finale’ at Citizens Bank Park. Peralta comes off of a 10-3 loss against St. Louis with three runs scored on nine hits and two BB over five innings.

The Philadelphia Phillies were challenging for first in the National League East before a two week slump has them trying to stay out of 4th. The Phillies snapped a seven game slide with a win in the series opener but couldn’t build on the momentum following Saturday’s defeat where neither the arms or bats came through. Phils starter Jeremy Hellickson gave up three runs on seven hits and three BB with Hector Neris serving up a solo homer before Andrew Bailey gave up two runs in the 9th. The Philly bats totaled seven hits and a pair of walks with Cesar Hernandez going 3-4 with a homer and two RBI’s while Tyler Goeddel went solo. The Phillies are slated to send Aaron Nola to the hill for the second time versus the Brewers. Nola threw the ball well in a 5-1 loss to Washington last time out with two solo homers served up over six frames.
The under is 14-6-2 in Milwaukee’s last 22 overall and is 14-6-2 in their last 22 on grass while the over is 11-3-1 in Peralta’s last 15 starts overall. Philadelphia are 1-7 in their last 8 overall and are 1-7 in their last 8 games on grass while the under is 6-2 in their last 8 overall. The Brewers are 9-3 in the last 12 meetings. This is risky given the way Philadelphia hits but I’m still looking their way…
