The Seattle Mariners are looking to regroup and retake the top spot in the American League West. The Mariners will have to wait until Monday to regroup after a 3-2 defeat at Texas saddled the team with three straight losses where the bats never got going. M’s starter Hisashi Iwakuma fell to 4-5with all three runs but only one was earned on four hits through seven innings. Seattle was held to three hits and two free passes with Nelson Cruz leading the offense with a two run bomb that scored Robinson Cano. Left hander James Paxton toes the rubber versus the visiting Indians on Monday night. In his only start of the year Paxton absorbed a 14-6 loss at San Diego with eight runs plated (three earned) on ten hits in 3.2 frames.
The over is 7-1-1 in Cleveland’s last 9 overall and is 7-1-1 in their last 9 on grass while the Indians are 8-22 in their last 30 Monday games. The over is 20-7-3 in Seattle’s last 30 overall and is 20-7-3 in their last 30 on grass. The under is 9-3 in the last 12 meetings in Seattle and is 11-5 in the last 16 meetings. I think the Indians are tough to ignore here but I’m leaning to the team total here…
