The Houston Astros look to shake off a tough loss in Texas last night as they continue their series at the Ball Park in Arlington against the Rangers on Tuesday.
The Houston Astros let one slip away yesterday as they head a late inning lead on the Rangers but the potent Texas offense responded in the ninth as they held on for a 5-4 victory and halted Houston’s winning ways. The Astros are now 8-2 in their last 10 games and after a sluggish start they are playing their way back into the mix in the American League West but a loss to their division foes last night is a cause for concern as they can’t seem to find ways to beat those in their division. Houston will look to even the score with a show down on Tuesday night and they will send their ace Dallas Keuchel to the mound who hasn’t lived up to expectation this season and will have to be sharp tonight as he matches up with Cole Hamels.

The Rangers are having a very good start to the season and are currently the club house leaders in the American League West and with the roster they possess they should be considered the odds on favourites to win the division. Texas is coming off a tough playoff loss to the Blue Jays last season but you can be sure they are using that as motivation this season and with a full year of Cole Hamels on the mound they are a very scary team that is also getting a healthy Yu Darvish back in the lineup.
The Astros are 7-1 in their last eight games against the AL West, 5-1 in Keuchel’s last six Tuesday starts, and 13-3 in their last 16 overall while the Rangers are 6-0 in their last six against the AL West, 11-3 in their last 14 Tuesday games, and 20-8 in their last 28 overall. This is an exciting series between two hard hitting teams and while Keuchel is the one coming off a Cy Young season it is Hamels that is following suit this year and looks poised to send his team to another victory here.
