The Line: Arizona Diamondbacks -150 / Miami Marlins +140 --- Over/Under: 8.5 See the Latest Odds

The Miami Marlins look to keep their winning ways alive as they continue their road in Arizona against the Diamondbacks on Friday night.

The Marlins head into the desert for a show down with the Diamondbacks after a wing against the Minnesota Twins last night as they will send Justin Nicolino to the mound who will face off against Patrick Corbin. The Marlins have surprisingly put together a pretty strong start to the year and while they have a lot of work to do if they’re going to stay competitive with the Mets and Nationals they certainly have the pieces to stay in the fold as they are led by Christian Yelich and Giancarlo Stanton. Miami sends Nicolino to the hill who is 2-3 with a 4.37 ERA but with Corbin going on the other side who is 3-5 with a 4.73 mark it could be a winnable game for the visitors who can move two games above the .500 mark with a win.

The Diamondbacks meanwhile have been an absolute mess this season and having so much promise heading in and while there is still plenty of baseball left to be played it is hard to imagine they can do enough to leapfrog the Dodgers or Giants as the NL West powerhouse this year. Arizona still has Paul Goldschmidt anchoring their offense but beyond that they are a bit thin thanks to the loss of AJ Pollock and even their revamped rotation has struggled as Zack Grienke and Shelby Miller have had some growing pains in their new digs.

The Marlins are 8-0 in their last eight against the NL West, 1-4 in their last five overall, and 8-3 in their last 11 against a lefty while the D-Backs are 3-7 in their last 10, 1-4 in Corbin’s last five Friday starts, and 0-5 in his last five home starts. The Marlins are coming in with some confidence and while the pitching matchup is a wash I think they get the best of Corbinand grab a win on the road.
