The Kansas City Royals look to snap out of their ugly funk as they head into the Cell on Friday night to battle the Chicago White Sox.
The Royals have been an absolute nightmare of late as they have just three wins in their last 10 contests and look like a far cry from their team that won the World Series last year and while some of that has to do with the loss of Mike Moustakas there is more to it than just one guy. The Royals need to snap out of their losing ways soon or else they will look their grasp on the AL Central and with a series against the White Sox on tap this could be the momentum swinger they need to get back on track. The Royals will send Ian Kennedy to the mound in this one as he will face off against Chris Sale who is among the best pitchers in baseball.

The White Sox are in a funk of their own right now as they are 2-8 in their last 10 games and have gone from one of the story lines of the early going this season to an also ran that is already trading for pitching help. Chicago made a move to acquire James Shields and he was absolutely shelled in his Sox debut but luckily for them they will get Sale in this one who will be out to rebound after a couple of shaky outings. Chicago does have the roster to compete with the Royals and with their go to guy on the bump you would have to think they can get the job done at home.
The Royals are 6-1 in their last seven against a team with a losing record, 0-4 in their last four against the AL Central, and 0-7 in their last seven overall while the White SOx are 1-11 in their last 12 against a righty, 5-1 in Sale’s last six home starts, and 10-3 in his last 13 overall. Both teams are in a rut right now and while KC may be the better team overall I think the Sox get the win behind another strong outing from Sale.
