The Colorado Rockies know they have their backs against the wall when talking about challenging in the National League West. The Rockies seem to be putting something together with wins in four of five following an 11-5 victory versus Pittsburgh Thursday in a makeup game. Colorado starter Chad Bettis was ineffective with all five runs allowed (four earned) on seven hits through three innings before three relievers shut down the Pirates offense. The Rockies racked up 14 hits and walked five times with DJ LeMathieu going deep and driving in three with three runs while Charlie Blackmon, Nolen Arenado and Ryan Rayburn drove in two runs apiece. Colorado turns to Jonathan Gray on the bump for the series opener versus visiting San Diego.
