The Minnesota Twins travel to the west coast to begin a series with the Los Angeles Angels.
I keep saying the Minnesota Twins are better then their record indicates but they had better turn things around soon. The Twins had dropped seven of ten before a dramatic 7-4, ten inning win versus visiting Boston on Sunday. Minnesota starter Pat Dean gave up a run over six frames with Brandon Kinzler allowing three (one earned). Minnesota managed seven hits and walked five times with Joe Mauer driving in a run and scoring twice before Max Keppler slammed a solo walk off in the 10th. The Twins are slated to send Ricky Nolasco to the bump in the series opener at the Angels. Nolasco was hit hard in a 7-5 win versus Miami with all five runs plated on eleven hits over 5.2 innings.

The Los Angeles Angels are not the same team they were in the past and will be fortunate to reach .500.. The Angels seemed to be heating up with five consecutive victories before suffering back to back defeats following an 8-3 loss versus visiting Cleveland on Sunday. LAA starter David Huff was tagged for five runs on five hits and two free passes including a pair of homers over 1.2 frames while six relievers were needed to finish the job. The Angels totaled seven hits and walked five times with Jeffry Marte going deep while Kole Calhoun drove in a run. Jered Weaver toes the rubber for the second time against Minnesota in 2016. Weaver comes off of a 12-6 defeat at the Yankees with six runs allowed on nine hits including two homers in 5.1 frames.
Minnesota are 7-22 in their last 29 road games and the over is 35-13-4 in their last 52 overall while going 35-13-4 in the Twins last 52 on grass. The Angels are 6-2 in their last 8 Monday games and the over is 5-2-2 in their last 9 overall while going 5-2-2 in their last 9 on grass. Los Angeles are 8-0 in Weaver’s last 8 home starts versus the Twins while the over is 7-1 in Weaver’s last 8 starts versus Minnesota. This is hardly a great wagering opportunity but here it goes anyway…
