The New York Mets welcome the division rival Atlanta Braves to Citi Field on Friday.

The Atlanta Braves record says all we need to know about this team that is struggling as they try to rebuild. After spotting Cincinnati a 2-0 lead Thursday, the Braves scored seven unanswered runs for a 7-2 win and back to back victories. Bravos starter Matt Wisler gave up both runs on eight hit and a pair of BB through 6.2 innings. Atlanta logged nine hits and walked three times with Freddie Freeman going 3-4 with a homer, two RBI’s and two runs while Nick Markakis and Jace Peterson drove in two runs apiece. Rookie John Gant makes his second career start when the Braves visit the Mets. Gant dropped a 13-2 decision to the Cubs in his debut with three runs plated (two earned) on four hits and four BB over 4.1 innings.

New York Mets vs. Atlanta Braves - 6/17/16 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The New York Mets are in need of a hot streak to stay with the Nationals in the National League East.  The Mets might be on their way with consecutive victories following a 6-4 3win versus visiting Pittsburgh on Thursday night. NYM starter Bartolo Colon improved to 6-3with a pair of runs scored on seven hits through 7.2 innings. New York pounded out eleven hits and walked twice with Neil Walker, Michael Conforto and Curtis Granderson each cracking long balls. Matt Harvey is scheduled to take the mound against the Braves for the third time in 2016. Harvey has been on a roll over his last three outings with just two runs allowed on eight hits in 20 frames.

The under is 6-2 in Atlanta’s last 8 road games and the Braves  are 17-50 in their last 67 road games while going  15-37 in their last 52 overall. The over is 6-2 in the Mets last 8 versus National League East and New York  are 19-7 in their last 26 Friday games while the under is 7-2 in Harvey’s last 9 on grass. The over is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings in New York and  is 18-8 in the last 26 meetings. Harvey seems to have found a groove and hopefully stays in it…
