The New York Mets and Kansas City Royals continue their World Series rematch at Citi Field on Wednesday as Danny Duffy will face off against Noah Syndergaard.
The Royals dropped a close 3-2 final against the Mets in New York last night and will look to rebound on Wednesday as they face off against Thor who has had a very strong start to the season and will look to keep his ERA under two. Kansas City has been on a tear of late and have quietly put together a stretch that has them seven games above the .500 mark and while they still have some work to do before they can be considered the favourite in the AL Central as they have the Cleveland Indians to contend with. Duffy heads into this one with a 2-1 record and a 3.17 ERA which is very respectable but he is up against Syndergaard who is 7-2 with a 1.91 mark and has emerged as one of the best pitchers in the majors.

The Mets meanwhile have struggled of late and don’t look like the team that qualified for the World Series last year and while they have a very solid rotation led by Syndergaard they haven’t been able to get their offense on the same page. New York did get a win yesterday though in the first game of this world series rematch and with their go to guy on the bump in this one they are favourites to het another but we are getting Thor at a reasonable price at just -132 right now and it would be smart to jump on it now as the line will surely start to go south as we approach first pitch.
Kansas City is 8-1 in their last nine overall, 12-4 in their last 16 interleague road games, and 2-9 in their last 11 road games while the Mets are 2-6 in their last eight overall and 2-6 in their last eight home games. The Mets just aren’t clicking right now and while Syndergaard is among the league’s best he will be in tough here as KC is seeing the ball well and will look to rebound after last night.
