The Houston Astros pay a visit to Kauffman Stadium to face the Kansas City Royals on Friday.
The Houston Astros were a non factor until the last few weeks when they were just trying to string a some wins together to winners in eight of ten. The Astros come off a three game sweep of visiting Los Angeles capped off by a 3-2 victory on Wednesday. Stros starter Lance McCullers gave up a single run on six hits and a trio of free passes over 5.2 frames but did not get a decision. Houston Logged eight hits and walked twice with Jose Altuve going deep while Marwin Gonzalez drove in a run and scored. Houston hands the ball to Dallas Keuchel for the first game of their series at Kauffman Field. Keuchel comes off of a 5-4 victory versus Cincinnati where he gave up two runs on five hits over seven innings.

The once hot Kansas City Royal’s need to heat up again or they risk falling behind further in the American League Central. The Royals have dropped back to back contests following a 4-3 defeat at the Mets on Wednesday. KC starter Danny Duffy gave up three runs through 4.2 innings with Joakim Soria absorbing the loss by serving up a solo homer that dropped him to 3-3. Kansas City totaled nine hits with Chester Cuthbert going solo while Whit Merrifield and Paulo Orlando drove in runs.Edinson Volquez toes the rubber against visiting Houston for the first time in 2016. Volquez comes off of a 16-5 rout of Detroit where he gave up five runs on eight hits in 6.1 frames.
